Bloodhound STEM Quest

St Mary's Church Hall

Get Hands-On with Real Engineering Challenges.

Join us in a fun, inclusive environment where you can explore engineering at your own pace. Each session features a brand-new activity, so there’s always something exciting to build and learn.

No experience needed — just curiosity!

You can book a morning session, an afternoon session, or both—and enjoy a full day of hands-on, creative exploration!

Friday 8th August 2025 - Explore the Exciting World of Robotics!
Discover how robots work — from Zippy, the world’s smallest robot at just 2.5 inches, to Optimus Prime, towering at 6 metres tall.
10 AM-12 Noon : Learn How Real Robots Work:
Robot arms are becoming increasingly common in industries and everyday life. In this hands-on workshop, you'll explore how they function—and get to develop and build your very own moving robot arm!
12.30 PM-2.30 PM : Build Your Own Mini Production Line
From food factories to Amazon warehouses, conveyor belt systems play a key role in efficient material handling and transport. In this hands-on activity, you'll design and build a working conveyor belt to move products along.

Wednesday 27th August - Making Energy
Discover the amazing ways we can generate energy using everyday items. From fruit-powered batteries to water-splitting experiments, learn how simple materials can demonstrate powerful science.
10 AM-12 Noon Powering Potatoes & other experiments:
Create a working battery using potatoes and lemons, and light up an LED.
Hydrogen is a promising clean fuel for the future—explore how electricity can be used to split water and produce hydrogen.
12.30 PM-2.30 PM Mini Wind Turbines:
Wind power is one of the cheapest and cleanest ways to produce electricity. A single wind turbine can power up to 1,500 households, typically lasts 20–30 years, and approximately 90% of its parts can be recycled. Build your own working wind turbine using simple craft materials and discover how wind energy can generate electricity.

This is for children who are aged between 5 to 16 years old and receive benefits-related free school meals.

Bookings are open for the summer holidays.
