Thornbury Skate Park
Thornbury Skate Park is gearing up for one of the biggest youth events of the summer as Thornbury Skate Fest returns on Saturday 8 August, 2–6pm, bought to you by Krunch South West. The festival brings together skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter fans, and roller skaters of all ages and abilities for an afternoon of high energy fun, friendly competition and community celebration.
This year’s Skate Fest features pro rider demonstrations, hands on skills workshops, and open practice sessions for anyone wanting to build confidence or try something new. The skate comp has categories for all wheels and all abilities, with entry cost of just £2. You can enter the comp using the form link below.
Spectators are warmly encouraged (it’s free to come and watch!) – there’s always a brilliant atmosphere around the park.
Beyond the ramps, families can enjoy a lively mix of activities including inflatables, a rodeo bull, coconut shy, face painting, art, bushcraft, music, and a classic BBQ. It’s a relaxed, welcoming event designed to bring the whole community together.
A limited number of funded tickets are available for young people in school year 4 and over, who receive South Gloucestershire benefit related free school meals. (Funded by South Gloucestershire HAF). The funded ticket will enable each young person to have a free go on selected activities and also a free hot dog or burger (vegetarian options will also be available). The next Thornbury and Severn Vale ‘Your Voice’ community event will also be taking place at the skate park, to facilitate conversations between communities, the council and other key partners such as town and parish councils, Avon Fire and Rescue Service, Avon and Somerset Police and local voluntary and community groups.
