Thornbury Art Club: Monthly Club Night
St Mary's Church Hall
In this live demonstration, professional artist Oriane Pierrepoint will create a charcoal portrait from a photographic reference, focusing on the core principles behind a strong likeness.
She will discuss tonal blocking, measuring and proportion, and mark making in charcoal, showing how a portrait develops from broad value masses into a more refined form. The demonstration offers insight into both technique and decision-making throughout the drawing process.
During the evening’s demo, we will have a short break for free tea, coffee, and biscuits. This will give us an opportunity to chat with other club members and the artist.
Don’t miss this fantastic chance to learn, socialise, and enjoy an evening of art, whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills. If you’re interested in joining the Club, our membership secretary, Pat will be on the door to give you more information, or else contact us below.
Our monthly Club Nights when we have a talk/demonstration by a guest artist are now on the 4th Tuesday of the month, 7.15 for 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
Members free, non-members very welcome - £6 on the door, cash or card. Click below for further details. Free parking on site.
