Join artist Frances Daws for a fun Christmassy themed lino printing workshop
You will learn how to design, carve and print your very own Christmas stamp. Create with expert teaching in the relaxed, welcoming environment of Discerning Palette Gallery. Bring your own ideas and images to work from or use the inspiration provided in the workshop. Frances will also provide a selection of Christmas based images to help you create your own unique stamp which you can use for cards, wrapping paper, etc. Once you have the stamp the possibilities are endless.
Demonstrations will be given on how to design and transfer your creation to Lino, how to carve an image, achieve variety in line and detail and how to ink up a Lino well for a strong even print. You will use a printing press to print your stamp and create a selection of cards, as well as the usual colours there will be beautiful metallics to print your image and a selection of coloured papers to use as well in the creation of the cards. Once we have finished there will be wood blocks available to attach to your Lino to turn it into a stamp.
