Ho Ho Ho… Grab those Santa hats, adorn a big red suit and take part in our Santa Fun Run, all in support of South Gloucestershire Age UK. A 1.5K fun run around Old Down Country Park to spread some festive cheer and support a local Charity dedicated to delivering services and activities to older people in South Gloucestershire.
Jingle your way around our route, whether you walk, jog or run. What We Need: Egg cartons
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Drop off your decorated or plain egg cartons (clean and not soiled) at the Town Hall reception before 29 November 2024 during office hours.
- Join us on Wednesday 27 November (9:30 AM - 3:00 PM) to help draw on the collected cartons and make them look festive!
Once completed, our staff will stack the cartons into a tree for display in the Town Hall. The fun doesn’t end there! Guess how many cartons we used for a chance to enter a lucky draw and win a prize! (Details to follow once the tree is finished.)

Bus trip from the Swan Thornbury to Worcester Christmas Market - we will meet at the Swan first for a coffee and a bacon roll, then catch the coach to Worcester Christmas Market.
Tickets are available from the Swan - it's always a sell out so we would recommend that you get your tickets as soon as possible.
I'm sorry to say that we will not be holding tickets as last year some didn't come and get their tickets that we were asked to hold. All tickets are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. It's a great day out...

Back for our 10th year, we are pleased to offer three weekends of Christmas Workshops, including a whole day workshop on Saturday 14th where you will make a Christmas wreath and a table decoration and have a home cooked lunch. Our workshops will be delivered from our own site in Latteridge, between Iron Acton and Thornbury in our lovely spacious wooden workshop, which will be decorated with some festive cheer.

This year for the first time we having a party for very special children who are neurodivergent. There will be a face painter, bouncy castle, colouring for anyone who wants to be a little bit more quiet, tea time treats, and a visit from Santa.

The Berkeley Castle Orchestral Christmas Concert 2024 will take place on Sunday 15 December at 6pm with Reception from 5pm.
Launched in 2002, this wonderful event has delighted audiences for over 20 years with its music, festive fare and wine and the magical atmosphere in this beautiful historic venue made seasonal with twinkling lights and Christmas trees.
The music will again be a mix of works from the Baroque through to the 20th century, and Orchestra Pro Anima, directed from the violin by Michael Bochmann MBE, will be joined by celebrated clarinettist Robert Plane in the much-loved Mozart Clarinet Concerto.
